*this is a review post, we were kindly sent an item to review and share about* That well known, but bumbling spy, Johnny English is back. Called out of retirement to save Britain once again, in his own rather haphazard style. “When a cyber-attack reveals the identity of all active undercover agents in Britain, the […]READ MORE
We happened to pass this place today, on our walk around London. I was tempted to hand this dodgy looking crew in for questioning but then realised I would have to carry all the shopping and picnic bags myself if I did that, so I decided not to. They were relieved… Hope you have had […]READ MORE
Welcome to our week in photos. This is our weekly catch up for both sets of grandparents who live abroad and don’t get to be as much a part of the daily madness of our lives as much as we and they would like. So we share here for them to get at least a […]READ MORE
This is the first time I have voiced that sentence aloud. “Winter is bad for my mental health”. I have thought it for the longest time, but then dismissed that thought as silly, hippy talk. Too much Doctor Googling and not enough common sense. But in therapy we have been discussing the cycles of my […]READ MORE
Because cats are imminently sensible, and are not bothered about Valentine’s Day, or any other day for that matter, and spend most of it sleeping in the warm spot their humans have left… How was your Valentine’s Day?READ MORE

Welcome to the Mad House. I originally started this blog, in a blur of sleep deprivation, to get my thoughts and feelings down somewhere, on parenting, second time round, with a baby that had major sleep issues (and not just normal ones) but it has grown and grown. We are now well into our fifth year at the Mad House and you will find blog posts on anything from gardening, to politics, with lots of ramblings on parenting, and also about living with food intolerances. I blog about cows milk and gluten free cooking too.
