All of my adult life, I have struggled with migraines. After investigations, tests, visits to various doctors it seems they are mostly due to hormone fluctuations, and can be triggered by tiredness. I can go for weeks and sometimes months without one, then may struggle with one or two bad migraine attacks over a week, […]READ MORE
Welcome to Spotty’s Sunday. This is the gecko corner of our blog, shared by Matthew with a little help from his mum. Spotty is our leopard gecko who has come to live with us. He is currently almost 21 weeks old. We cleaned out Spotty’s terrarium today. My mum and dad helped me. It was […]READ MORE
Project 365. A photo a day, every day of the year. Jasper and I make the same face. Why? Because the tween isn’t paying him any attention, due to the fact that she’s busy shopping for clothes online, and I make that face because that’s my laptop she has commandeered to do the shopping on […]READ MORE

In the past few years, I have seen posts doing the rounds about only having “18 Summers” with our children. Welcome to the Mad House. I originally started this blog, in a blur of sleep deprivation, to get my thoughts and feelings down somewhere, on parenting, second time round, with a baby that had major sleep issues (and not just normal ones) but it has grown and grown. We are now well into our fifth year at the Mad House and you will find blog posts on anything from gardening, to politics, with lots of ramblings on parenting, and also about living with food intolerances. I blog about cows milk and gluten free cooking too.
