Not being on Twitter or Facebook means I have to dump all the random photos I take in the week somewhere…. This weeks mishmash: Blowing out candles on the birthday cake (she had a delayed celebration, because Small Boy was ill on her actual birthday and we spent 3 hours at the walk-in clinic to […]READ MORE
They literally fall apart on your feet as you are walking around town, doing some shopping. Yup, I am slightly mortified to admit, that my walking shoes, which I wear pretty much all the time, during the winter, unless I am going to an event where I need to be dressed up, decided to fall […]READ MORE
Well, this blog is titled the “MAD CATS and babies” so you have to expect the odd piece about the cats themselves! This was Jasper, today, asleep on my bed, curled up, hiding away. It’s clearly a hard life….. This is what I’d like to do today. I want to curl up, in a warm […]READ MORE
So, one night about two weeks ago, I’m in bed, it’s 10pm at night, the children are asleep, LSH is out for a meal with his work colleagues, and I am just about drifting off to sleep… When I hear a “beep”, just a single, sharp, beep. I try to ignore it, but it goes […]READ MORE

So, last year, I blogged (ok, I ranted) about putting my money where my mouth was, and the perils of social media. I decided to give up Facebook and Twitter for 60 days. I wrote ablog post about what I was doing. You can read about my 60 Day Blackout and visit my Just Giving […]READ MORE
Welcome to my Friday’s Rants from the Soap Box in my Living Room. A small space in the week where I can have a chunter about things that have made me twitch with annoyance or made me question if the world has gone mad or not…. I also linked up with MummyBarrow for her Ranty […]READ MORE
I love taking random photos of my kids, or things I see. I am NOT a photographer, my photos are not artistic, or beautiful, and sometimes they may even be blurry and definitely not professional. I normally put loads of photos on Facebook or Twitter, but because of my 60 day Facebook and Twitter black […]READ MORE

Welcome to the Mad House. I originally started this blog, in a blur of sleep deprivation, to get my thoughts and feelings down somewhere, on parenting, second time round, with a baby that had major sleep issues (and not just normal ones) but it has grown and grown. We are now well into our fifth year at the Mad House and you will find blog posts on anything from gardening, to politics, with lots of ramblings on parenting, and also about living with food intolerances. I blog about cows milk and gluten free cooking too.
