Yup, that’s what he said! I was slightly horrified, and felt a bit mortified. We don’t over feed our cats. We don’t feed them the “posh” cat food, that you buy from the vets, simply because Layla wont eat it. (We’ve tried, we tried slowly mixing it into her old food, leaving it and not […]READ MORE
Have to be iced and decorated today (for tomorrow’s music group) That doesn’t sounds like a big deal, but it has to be squeezed in amongst what seems like a million other things. Big girl to school, collect Small Boy’s best mate Max, who comes to play at our house on Monday’s for a few […]READ MORE
I’ve been asked for this recipe a few times, so thought I would blog about it. It’s a firm favourite in our house, and because it is gluten and dairy free, is good for those with food intolerances or allergies. You can tweak it to suit your needs. Gluten free American Style Pancakes I prefer American style, fluffier, […]READ MORE
When your child is one of those toddlers/children who is feisty, has a healthy pair of lungs, and is going through that wonderful tantrum stage that those of us who have experienced know so well, and those of us who had children who never went through it, sigh with relief that it’s not their child turning […]READ MORE
Welcome to my Friday’s Rants from the Soap Box in my Living Room. A small space in the week where I can have a chunter about things that have made me twitch with annoyance or made me question if the world has gone mad or not…. I also linked up with MummyBarrow for her Ranty Friday. You can […]READ MORE
This week is a bit of a mishmash of photos. I haven’t actually taken that many this week, for some reason. The camera on the phone I have, is very basic, and doesn’t take great photos, and our proper big camera needs repairing, but getting it done has been WAY down on my never-ending to […]READ MORE
When people (usually Mum’s, but I have been asked by curious Dad’s, Grandparents and childcare providers) see that my Small boy is wearing a cloth nappy or I happen to mention that we use them, the first questions they ask is: but aren’t they a hassle? Don’t they make life more complicated? How do […]READ MORE

Welcome to the Mad House. I originally started this blog, in a blur of sleep deprivation, to get my thoughts and feelings down somewhere, on parenting, second time round, with a baby that had major sleep issues (and not just normal ones) but it has grown and grown. We are now well into our fifth year at the Mad House and you will find blog posts on anything from gardening, to politics, with lots of ramblings on parenting, and also about living with food intolerances. I blog about cows milk and gluten free cooking too.
