I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis in 2007. We thought that I was suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which is quite common during and after pregnancy. I had pain in my hands, and wrists, but it also extended to my elbow and shoulder, so my GP wasn’t convinced, and sent me to see a specialist to test […]READ MORE
Welcome to my Friday’s rants from the soapbox in my living room. I have one rant this week. People (ie parents) who send their sick children into school… It’s that time of year, the kids have gone back to school, colder weather is coming and the nasty germs and lurgies are rubbing their hands with […]READ MORE
‘ My Small Boy has had sleep issues. He hasn’t been the best of sleepers, but he is finally sleeping a little better. However, every ten days or so he throws us a curve ball, and has a hideous night. Last night was one of those. He woke at 11:30pm, and despite all our best […]READ MORE
Welcome to my Friday rants. We’ve had a quiet week, but I do have some things to get off my chest, so here goes… People who don’t listen to answer machine messages/read e-mails properly: How hard can it be? You ring someone, leave a message saying “call me at x time, I am available for […]READ MORE
I’ve joined up with a link run by Joyful Abode. To find out more and join in here I actually help to run a music group for toddlers on a Tuesday, and we leave the house at 830 to do the school run, then head straight to the group, and we don’t get home much […]READ MORE
Welcome to my Friday Rants. Today is slightly different. I’ve got plenty of things I could rant about, but today I’m just focusing on one thing. I happened to read a Tweet on Twitter last night, a retweet from someone I follow. I opened the link and was taken to a blog. I read the […]READ MORE
I’ve had a bit of a busy week. We’ve managed to finish all the school uniform shopping, the playgroup I run opened for a summer session and I’ve managed to hurt my back by not being careful when lifting something. I should know better, I’ve done so many manual handling/lifting courses in my career. I’m […]READ MORE
I enjoy a good rant, most of my friends will tell you. I’m somewhat infamous for having a rant or two on Facebook. I’ve decided that Friday’s will be my day, when I will climb onto my soap box, and rant on my blog. Here are this weeks rants…. First rant of the week: Lelli […]READ MORE

Welcome to the Mad House. I originally started this blog, in a blur of sleep deprivation, to get my thoughts and feelings down somewhere, on parenting, second time round, with a baby that had major sleep issues (and not just normal ones) but it has grown and grown. We are now well into our fifth year at the Mad House and you will find blog posts on anything from gardening, to politics, with lots of ramblings on parenting, and also about living with food intolerances. I blog about cows milk and gluten free cooking too.
