This is not something I have blogged or even spoken about, to anyone, until recently. Don’t panic, though, I won’t be showing you photos of my Mummy Tummy, I think that would be taking being honest and open too far…. I have a Mummy Tummy, a lot of women do. The combination of weigh gain, […]READ MORE
They frequent the tree outside my child-minder’s house. Small Boy is fascinated by them. They are wild, having descended from tame ones in Richmond Park, so I am told. They are quite timid, so this was as close as I could get to get a photo, so it’s not as crisp as I would like. […]READ MORE
I was contacted a little while ago and asked if I would like to review some bath products made by Crazy for Kids. If you have read my post on how much I loathe bath time, with the kids, and let LSH take the task, if I can, you will know that normally I avoid […]READ MORE
This year, my friends and family have been a little surprised at my change of attitude towards Christmas, and all things festive. I am known as being very bah humbug, get very stroppy at posts counting down to Christmas before it’s even December, and prone to making sarcastic remarks at people announcing they have done […]READ MORE
The weeks are flying by. I cannot actually believe it is now actually December. Our tree and decorations are in progress. I am trying to persuade LSH to let me get some ornaments that light up for the front garden, he is not that keen, but the children and I will keep trying! This week […]READ MORE
I am pretty sure the Bank Of England and the current incumbents in parliament could be doing with some old fashioned maths lessons, but this is not a political rant, it’s Sat Cap, so give it your best go…. Then mosey on over to Mammasaurus and see what inspires you from other bloggers! Have a […]READ MORE
Welcome to my Friday’s Rants from the Soap Box in my Living Room. A small space in the week where I can have a chunter about things that have made me twitch with annoyance or made me question if the world has gone mad or not…. I also linked up with MummyBarrow for her Ranty Friday. You can […]READ MORE
It’s funny and it hadn’t dawned on my before, but I am noticing a pattern, in our tiredness levels, the general outlook and attitude and length of temper as the week moves on. Monday morning, we are all keen for school and nursery, and I look forward to the week, at work, because usually, I […]READ MORE
I had to go and get Small Boy some new gloves, at the end of last week, and as it has got really cold here, and I have been so sick with flu, I thought I had better get myself a nice, warm, woolly hat to keep my head warm, and protected. I found this […]READ MORE

Welcome to the Mad House. I originally started this blog, in a blur of sleep deprivation, to get my thoughts and feelings down somewhere, on parenting, second time round, with a baby that had major sleep issues (and not just normal ones) but it has grown and grown. We are now well into our fifth year at the Mad House and you will find blog posts on anything from gardening, to politics, with lots of ramblings on parenting, and also about living with food intolerances. I blog about cows milk and gluten free cooking too.
