*This is a collaborative post, that I hope will be helpful* Whether you’ve just been diagnosed with endometriosis or you’ve been living with the condition for some time, there’s one burning question you’ve probably wondered: Will endometriosis affect my chances of getting pregnant? While the condition doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll struggle with fertility, there’s a […]READ MORE
I don’t know about you, but I find winter can be very harsh and hard on skin. The damp, cold, wet, windy, icy (I think I have used all the right words to describe a lovely UK winter?) mixed with turning on the heating, and going in and out of warm buildings, and washing hands […]READ MORE

Not only domestic travellers, but also international visitors make a beeline to this popular hill […]READ MORE
I am not doing the usual Christmas gift guides this year, as a blogger I have decided to break with tradition and do something a little different. I am, instead, featuring some lovely small businesses that I think make items that would be perfect if you are looking to support small businesses this Christmas or […]READ MORE
A thing of beauty that has been baking slowly all day and made my house smell amazing today. Christmas cake ready to be doused with brandy and left to do it’s Christmassy magic, ready to be taken to France to be eaten with cheese (I’m doing my research and finding something akin to Wensleydale) no […]READ MORE

The high price of gas and electricity is a subject that has rarely been out of the news in the past twelve months and as winter approaches our usage can increase dramatically. To minimise your heating bills, there are many steps you should start to follow immediately. If you take no action, you may face […]READ MORE

So I am three weeks into therapy. I should be feeling better right? All my problems should be obvious by now and we should have answers tumbling out to fix them. I should be feeling like I can see an improvement? Er, no, nope, not at all. In fact, it get worse before it gets […]READ MORE

Welcome to the Mad House. I originally started this blog, in a blur of sleep deprivation, to get my thoughts and feelings down somewhere, on parenting, second time round, with a baby that had major sleep issues (and not just normal ones) but it has grown and grown. We are now well into our fifth year at the Mad House and you will find blog posts on anything from gardening, to politics, with lots of ramblings on parenting, and also about living with food intolerances. I blog about cows milk and gluten free cooking too.
