Stérimar saves the day when colds invade…(and a giveaway!)

It’s that time of year. The children are well into the autumn term, the days are darker earlier, the weather is colder, and winter germs seem to lurk everywhere. My social media feed is as clogged as a snotty nose, with statuses bemoaning the colds and other nasty lurgies that seem to have arrived.

Colds and snotty noses are horrible for adults and kids alike, and there is nothing worse that being bunged up and congested or dealing with runny noses. In fact, we are in this household, getting over a particularly nasty bout of the cold virus that has invaded and rendered us all sneezing, snotty messes at various stages over the past two weeks.

So, these brilliant nasal sprays from Stérimar, have really saved the day for both the grown ups and the children. Their selection of nasal sprays are really useful for helping to clear blocked little noses and bigger ones, and making breathing a bit easier. They’re safe and gentle, and effective and definitely very handy to have in your bag or medicine cabinet. My kids were a little bit iffy about “squirting stuff” up their noses, but when I did a little demo on myself (because that’s what mums do, you know) they were quite keen to let me help them use the spray and they both said they felt much better afterwards and less “snotty”.sterimar-kids

The husband was very impressed with the adult spray, when he had a particularly bad cold and the start of a sinus infection. So we definitely will be keeping a stash of their sprays over the winter to help fend off the symptoms of colds when they invade.

Stérimar also make a baby nasal spray, that I WISH I had had, when my children were small. Babies noses can get so congested and also it’s awful when they get those first colds and coughs, because it’s so much harder on their little systems to clear snot and breathe.

The respiratory system is still in development in babies and cannot fully protect the body against breathed-in ‘contamination’. They are more susceptible to infections such as colds. Also, in the first few months of life, a baby breathes mainly through his/her nose and doesn’t yet know how to blow its nose. If baby’s nose is blocked, he/she will suffer with eating, drinking or sleeping. Clearing impurities from baby’s nose with Stérimar Baby facilitates breathing and makes it easier to feed.

a tissue with a bit of vicks placed in the room at night…my friend used to suck the bogies out if they were snuffly

Olbas for Children acts as a gentle decongestant to relieve stuffy noses and catarrh and ease natural breathing. Simply place four to six drops on a tissue and hold close to your baby’s nose so they can breathe in the vapour. Children over the age of two can have a few drops on the inside of their pillowcase.
