Our week in photos – when the going gets tough…

Welcome to our week in photos. Snippets of the chaos from our week. Usually there’s cake, coffee and a grumpy cat or two involved!

Last week was tough, things are a bit easier this week, although we are still missing Nibbles. We are rolling into half term and I’m glad of a week of no school runs and hopefully a bit of relaxing time with the kids. We are all tired.

This week’s usual eclectic mix:

Home made banana bread

Grumpy cat doesn’t understand why humans wear make up…

Trying to make toad in the hole, adding apple juice by mistake but thankfully they turned out OK and the kids didn’t notice!

Pink fluffy coats. I wanted to buy it but decided I’m a bit old for that look!

Chinese takeaway, because it had been a long week!

Chocolate spread for breakfast on a school day? Me? I would never feed my kids that! ?

Treats in the post for me.

And finally, we are hatching a dinosaur egg. We are waiting to see what it will actually turn out to be. My boy is hoping it will be a real one. That would be a fun addition to the household…

So that’s our week. What have you been up to?

Chinese takeaway sounds very nice indeed. You’ve now tempted me for tonight. Half term holidays are definitely needed here too!

  2. Hope he is not disappointed when his egg hatches…….lol
I toyed with the idea of a chinese tonight but decided to use prepared veg and throw them in the oven with chicken breasts.
Glad the toad in the hole was edible…did you use any milk at all? Got me wondering if they would make an alternative for dairy free pancakes.

Sorry, only just seen this. The recipe is 150ml milk and about 50ml was apple juice before I realised. It might work for pancakes because they’re OK to be sweet. You could try it. I’m curious now myself. The other option is to use soya milk or if you don’t want to use that, use drinkable coconut milk, (in the chilled section in the supermarket) that works for pancakes, I’ve used it!

  3. Ha, I would never give my kids chocolate spread for breakfast either *ahem* 🙂 Lovely goodies for you, hope you enjoy them. A real dinosuar, now that really would be interesting!

I was very tired and distracted and the apple juice container looks very similar to the soya milk container in the fridge. ?
