Recipe of the week – Dairy Free Pizza

This is a very quick, cheat recipe. My kids LOVE pizza, but now we are working on removing cows milk from Small Boy’s diet, I am having to look for alternatives to things like pizza. This works for us!

You need:

One pizza base (I am working on making my own and would love to try gluten free as well, so LSH can eat it too,  but this was a pre bought base, you can make your own, it’s great fun for the kids)

A drizzle of olive oil

One small jar of tomato passata or tomato based pasta sauce, or your own home made sauce (I made my own, recently and froze it in batches, and it has carrots added to the sauce, for extra veggies)

One cup full of grated cheese – we used a milk, hard goats cheese, (if you want to, use cheddar if cows milk isn’t a problem) You can use Manchego, or any other cheese that grates and melts nicely.

Whatever you like to add to your pizza in terms of toppings… My children LOVE olives, and we used olives here, but I also use sweetcorn, ham, pineapple, pepperoni, mushrooms, spinach… whatever you like, and you can let them decorate their own pizza’s too.

  • Pre heat the oven to 180
  • Spread the sauce evenly all over the pizza base, then add some cheese, then go wild with your toppings, then add more cheese and drizzle the olive oil over the top.
  • Bake for 10 minutes (or however long the pizza base needs) and your toppings are cooked and the cheese is melty

Enjoy! My kids wolfed this down and asked for more!
