There’s some hope! What plant is it?
It’s an Amaryllis. It will hopefully be blooming in April. I grow one every year. This one I am growing from a bulb I saved from last year, I am hoping it will work, I’ve never saved and re-grown a bulb. My Mum and Gran used to grow them, so I am keeping up the tradition. A nice reminder that there is spring and sunshine on the way somewhere, although technically they’re indoor plants in the UK, too cold for them outside!
aw thats lovely, some nice fresh growth in this cold cold weather … roll on spring!
I love how Amaryllis look, their blooms are so pretty. I usually kill anything green though (accidentally of course!)
I am totally un green thumbed (I realise that is a very ungrammatical phrase, but it’s 7am, I’ve been up since 5am, only had one coffee and my brain hasn’t quite warmed up yet!) but Amaryllis are apparently pretty tough, and seem to survive my ministrations. I pot it, water it once or twice a week, leave it in a sunny, warm spot and it seems to work.
oh! that’s lovely! it would grow now..:) nice shot!
